Setting up sharks and other animals

Introduction

This tutorial will show you how to add sharks and other animals to your level.

Sharks serve a specific purpose in your level – to stop the player moving too far outside your gameplay area, preventing him from escaping, or skipping sections without your permission.

Other animals (boids) exist only as an atmospheric entity, to add life and ambience to your level.

Now, go to the rollup bar, and you will find the animals library.

Simply open up the folder containing the animal you want, and drag it into your scene.

If the animal doesn’t immediately appear, simply move your camera a good distance away from the archetype entity, then zoom back in. Failing this, save and reload your level.

Ambient animals cannot be directly controlled but can be interacted with by the player. They come complete with sound effects and a simple flocking behavior.
