In this overview, we are going to take a look at the various things that makes up the Entity Library view.

Overview

The Entity Library tab is found in the Database View. Here, you can modify Archetype Entity's properties and have the changes reflected in its instances. You can also create new entities and new entity libraries. Archetype Entitys can also be grouped. To use a Archetype entity in a level, it must be added here first.

Quirks

Sandbox2 won't let you load a entityarchetype library repeatdly. Instead, use the Select Library dropdown menu.

The Toolbar

Load Library

This allows you to load a new EntityArchetype library.

Save Modified Library

This will save any changed you made to the library.

Add Library

This will let you create a new archetype entity library. The new library will be saved in the default game/Libs/EntityArchetypes folder.

Remove Library

This will remove the active archetype library.

Warning
Removing a library will delete all instances of the library's entities from the level

Active Library

This dropdown box allows you to select the current library.

Add new Item

This will create a new archetype entity. You have to select the underlying class/script. To create a new archetype entity, please read Creating a new Archetype Entity.

Clone Library Item

This will clone a preexisting archetype entity. An archetype entity must be first selected before it can be cloned.

Remove Item

This will remove the selected archetype entity.

Don't remove offical archetype entities

Copies and pastes archetype entities.
