Creating and Using a Prefab

Prefabs are useful as a way enforce consistency across objects.

Make a Prefab

  1. Create objects that you want to use as in your Prefab.
  2. Select the objects
  3. Select Prefabs→Make From Selection.
  4. Enter a name for your prefab.

The prefab should now appear when you open RollUpBar and open the Prefabs section. You can also access it directly from the DataBase view.

Edit a Prefab

  1. Select one of the prefabs.
  2. Do RollUpBar→Open to enable editing of the prefab.
  3. Rearrange the objects in the prefab.
  4. Do RollUpBar→Update Prefab.

You should now see your change appear in all prefabs of this type. You should close the prefab again after you finished editing it.

Add to a Prefab

  1. Select the prefab and the object(s) you want to add to it.
  2. Do Prefabs→Add Selection to Prefab

There are external prefab libraries for you to use as well as the preloaded ones.
